January 9, 2012 – Connecting with Your Adolescent: Staying Close, Staying Hopeful

Connecting with your adolescent: staying close,Current_Series staying hopeful with Patty Wipfler

Our teens are wonderful people, full of potential! But parenting isn’t easy at this stage. Where’s our compass? How do we know when to advise, when to let difficulties ride, and when to set limits? How do we impart our values without causing rebellion? Only you can answer these important questions for yourself and your family. But this talk, based on Parenting by Connection, will help you to:

  • Clarify your goals,
  • Develop a framework for understanding what teens want and need from parents
  • Learn ways to strengthen your connection to your teen,
  • Better understand your teen’s emotional moments,
  • Explore effective alternatives to strategies that aren’t working well.

Patty Wipfler has been teaching basic listening, parenting, and leadership skills to parents since 1974. She is a developer of Parenting by Connection and founder of Hand in Hand Parenting. She has taught and lectured in 22 countries and throughout the US, and her booklets, translated into 11 languages, have sold over 550,000 copies.
