POP-UP EVENT: Warning Signs: An Update on Dangers and Risks of Vaping for Teens, with Danielle Ramo, PhD – Thursday, October 10, 2019
Are you concerned about teen vaping, and what you are seeing in the news? Wondering what the scientific evidence shows us about this highly-publicized and politicized way to consume nicotine and cannabis? Want to know how to talk about vaping with your teen? Dr. Ramo will give us an update on what teens say they are using, and what we know about how vaping affects the teen brain and body. She will give an overview of the political landscape of vaping, including Prop C in SF, and calls for stricter legislation at the state and national levels. Finally, Dr. Ramo will discuss how families should be discussing vaping at home — What is fact vs fiction and how can families know the difference? How can conversations be productive rather than adversarial? What should families be doing if teens or their friends are vaping?
