Our Panelists:

Karly Brockett      

Senior Associate Director, Undergraduate Admissions, UCLA

Karly Brockett is the Senior Associate Director in the Undergraduate Admission department at UCLA. Prior to arriving at UCLA (covering areas of SF & Marin). she served as Director of Higher Ed Services for the College Board where she worked with a number of enrollment offices at institutions in the Western Region for five years. She also spent two years as a Co-Director of College Counseling at Marymount High School in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to her current role at UCLA, Karly has also worked in admission at the California Institute of Technology, Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, and at her alma mater, DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. She is currently a WACAC Delegate. In addition to her B.A. in History from DePauw University she also has a M.A. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas in San Antonio.

Joshua Ferchau

Associate Dean of Admissions, Lewis & Clark College

At Lewis & Clark, Joshua Ferchau serves as Associate Dean of Admissions & Director of Global Recruiting International Students, focused on American Samoa, California (San Francisco County), Guam, New Mexico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and U.S. citizens overseas.  He also works with Third Culture Kids (TCKs) or Global Nomads, individuals who have spent a significant part of their lifetimes outside their parents’ cultures.

Krista Klein           

Co-Director of College Counseling, LWHS

Krista Klein is grateful that she dropped out of a  PhD program at UC Berkeley 25 years ago, aimless and with no idea what she would do next!  That daring move serependitiously led her to a career in college counseling, first by co-authoring a book on college admissions that eventually went to three editions.  She started the college counseling program at Stuart Hall High School as its first Director and has now been the Co-Director of College Counseling at Lick-Wilmerding High School for 17 years.  She loves working with young adults and their families as they embark on the journey to discover life after high school..

Robyn Bowers        

Senior Research Analyst, Enrollment Research Associates

Robyn Bowers has worked in the area of college admissions and enrollment for over 15 years. Robyn currently is a Senior Research Analyst at Enrollment Research Associates, consulting with colleges on their admissions and enrollment strategy management. Prior to joining ERA, Robyn served as Dean of Admissions at Lawrence University and directed all aspects of first-year and transfer admissions. Robyn also spent seven years as Director of Admissions Recruitment and Selection at Kenyon College. Prior to that, she worked as the Dean of Admissions at Lawrence University. Robyn also works with students and parents from all over the country to help guide them through the college application process. 

Shima Konishi-Gray

LWHS Class of 2023, Current Freshperson at USC 

Shima Konishi-Gray is a first year student at the University of Southern California, majoring in Public Relations and Advertising at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and minoring in Dance at the Kaufman School of Dance. She is a recent graduate of Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco, CA.
