The Gift of Failure: Learning, Motivation, and Competence
We all parent from a place of love and a desire to give our kids every possible opportunity to lead successful, happy, purpose-driven lives. However, some of the things we do to pave the way toward that success can backfire by undermining teen motivation, engagement, and even their ability to learn.
When teens are not allowed to fall and pick themselves up, they never learn how to tolerate disappointment, manage their relationships, take responsibility for themselves, or cope with the frustration of not getting what they want.
Join us to hear from Jessica Lahey how to empower your teen to overcome setbacks. Parents will learn how to boost motivation and engagement in school, increase competence and a sense of self-efficacy, and deepen their connection with their teen while simultaneously decreasing risk for substance use disorder and other negative mental health outcomes.
